We organised a number of games for a recent Agile Academy meetup. Games are a great way to accelerate learning and introduce fun into the workplace. There are heaps of different games that provide a way of teaching Agile and Lean concepts.

The meetup was attended by around 40 people and started with a short presentation explaining some the background to games and learning. I also covered a number of the more common Agile and Lean games. The presentation is available on SlideShare.
A number of games were proposed and participants voted to select the game to play. The games that were selected were:
- Lean Paper Aeroplane Game
- Lego XP Game
- Kanban Sudoku

After the first round of games was complete, four teams formed to play the marshmallow challenge of which only two teams were able to create standing structures.

Everyone had a great time and hopefully learned something they can apply in their workplace. Comments from the participants include:
The games were exciting and generated a lot of discussion. The event was well run with everyone being involved and being able to choose the game that they wanted to be involved in.
Had a great time even though spaghetti tower collapsed it was still a great exercise in collaboration. I did like the XP Lego Game and I'll be using it with my team for coaching. Thanks guys for an entertaining night.
